24-Year-Old Killed, Second Man Critical During CT Drive-By Shooting

A 24-year-old Connecticut man was shot and killed and another man is critical following a reported drive-by shooting in front of a restaurant in a shopping plaza.

Hartford County resident Marion Edwards, of Windsor, was found with multiple gunshot wounds are 8:15 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 in the area of 295 Barbour St., in Hartford.

When patrol officers responded to the area for ShotSpotter notifications, they found Edwards and another man, both of whom had been shot, in front of the business, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police.

Edwards was unresponsive on the scene and officers began life-saving measures until the arrival of EMS. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. 

The second victim was listed in critical condition. Edwards died from his injuries, police said. 

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Division responded and assumed the investigation.
